The Beauty Lounge based in High Barnes, Sunderland.Debbie, the owner originally trained and qualified as a nurse, whilst taking a break from her nursing career to raise a family she pursued her passion and interest in beauty, training and qualifying in many treatment disciplines and practiced mobile beauty therapy for several years.

In 2008 the opportunity arose in finding the perfect premises and location for a beauty salon and so The Beauty Lounge was born!

The Beauty Lounge has been designed to create a retreat from the stresses from everyday life. Our highly trained team of beauty therapists will make you feel welcome and truly pampered.

We have very quickly attained an excellent reputation and are now considered one of the leading salons in Sunderland. Since opening the doors of The Beauty Lounge in 2008, I have surrounded myself with an amazing team. Please read on & meet my girls.

My aim is always to provide the best possible treatments & service to all of our clients using only high quality products at affordable prices.

Personally, being from a medical background my passion is beautiful skin, something we can all wear if we feed & treat it well. I research in depth everything I introduce into the salon, so you can be assured of the best results possible

Assistant Manager / Senior Therapist

I joined The Beauty Lounge 8 months after it first opened in 2008, a then newly qualified beauty therapist and now the longest serving employee.

As I started my career in this busy salon it has given me a wealth of experience. I am proud to have progressed to being the Assistant Manager.

I enjoy all aspects of the beauty industry although my passion lies with nails. It has been very rewarding building a wonderful repertoire with a loyal clientele, as is working with a happy team.

Senior Therapist

I have been in the beauty industry since 2008 & have worked at The Beauty Lounge since 2011.

During my time here I have had extensive training in Advanced Skin Care with Environ. I am an experienced Lash Perfect Technician, enhancing our client’s lashes since 2011. I have also completed additional holistic courses in Hot Stone & Indian head Massage.

I am always keen to learn new skills within the beauty industry. I especially enjoy interacting with clients and making their visit here enjoyable and relaxing.

I was excited and proud to join The Beauty Lounge team in May 2018. Knowing all about their strong ethics and client care due to being the sister of Rachael the salon Manager.

As a fully qualified beautician I have spent most of my career as a spa therapist, of which I find the most enjoyable part of my job. Bringing my extensive massage and holistic experience to The Beauty Lounge has been very satisfying.

As well as now incorporating all aspects of beauty therapy into my day, I love the responsibility of leading the way with The Beauty Lounge Holistic Treatments

I always knew  I wanted to be part of the Beauty Industry, so I studied and gained my NVQ level 3 in both Beauty & Nail technology.

Once qualified I worked within a salon for 4 years & gained lots of experience & further developed my skills. As the salon was predominately Nails I felt I had reached my full potential there & was eager to advance my career. I was delighted to be offered the position of a Senior Therapist at The Beauty Lounge in June 2019. The timing was perfect.

Working here is a wonderful buzz, a fab friendly team with a lovely atmosphere & very professional. Although my passion does lie with nails as I’m very creative & love nail art, I am excited to develop in other areas & also learn new skills. I look forward to beautifying you.

I joined The beauty Lounge in June 2018. I have found that working within a busy salon & part of an established team has improved my skills & boosted my confidence.

Starting as a level 2 qualified beautician I am now on my way to completing my level 3 qualification. I have already completed my Lash Perfect & Moroccan Spraytan training as well as reception duties.

I have enjoyed learning new skills & strive to be the best I can. I love working with the girls as part of a team.

I have worked for The Beauty Lounge since 2016 & have enjoyed gaining more responsibility and knowledge.

As well as Head of Reception, I am also the “in house” ambassador for delilah & a fully qualified makeup artist. I have also acquired a qualification in Nail Enhancements, which was already a passion of mine.

I am dedicated to running a smooth reception to assist the clients & therapists. A team I love being a part of. I also enjoy passing on my knowledge & advising clients on makeup, skincare products & treatments.

Permanent Makeup Artist

I’ve loved working with The Beauty Lounge clients and Therapists for over 10 years. Initially holding make up events for Jane Iredale. A brand I still enjoy working with today.

I retrained in 2010 to become a permanent cosmetic technician. A natural progression over 12 years of being a professional make up artist. I now hold regular monthly clinics offering permanent cosmetic treatments and piercing at The Beauty Lounge.

I am passionate about helping people boost their self confidence and love to transform the faces of those clients who have over plucked or lost hair through medical reasons. It is so rewarding to hear stories how permanent makeup has been life changing for them.
